The project of the DAMARTES (Ladies and Mothers of Art) was born under the name "Single mothers and their coconuts", and today it is an example of overcoming and creativity. This microenterprise, made up of seven women from the La Boquilla district, emerged in 2008 after a craft class sponsored by the Proboquilla Foundation. Currently, these talented women create jewelry, vases, containers, belts, and accessories from coconut, becoming the first craftswomen in the area to generate their own income and break social barriers through art.
Visiting their workshop is an authentic, inspiring, and supportive experience. In a charming rustic restaurant by the sea, the DAMARTES will warmly welcome you to share their life stories and teach you their artisan techniques. After the introduction, the best moment arrives: create your own memory with your hands.
